DroppingBy.com is different to other Marketplace websites or broker's websites as it's been created to fill empty space in your vehicle for a pre-destined trip. This means you can make your current trips more profitable by earning money from shipper's items with virtually no extra running costs to you. This will result in shippers receiving much lower bids from you to ship their items and you will be positively contributing to Climate Change. The fight against climate change Climate change is very important to DroppingBy.com and we feel that working with Shippers and Shipping Providers like you we can fight Global Warming. At the same time Shippers can save money and you make more money. It makes sense from all angles! Shipping greatly contributes to Climate Change. There are a huge amount of shipping providers running around the country with lots of empty space in their vehicles using more fuel and emitting more carbon emissions than is necessary. By Shipping Providers just like you, filling up this empty space in your vehicles for a trip, including the trip back, it will mean thousands less trips and millions less miles are travelled every year, reducing carbon emissions dramatically and helping to reduce Climate Change. Don't these low-ball bids mean even lower prices for our industry? No. DroppingBy.com has not been developed to unfairly lower shipping costs for shippers by taking money away from you. The site is here to cater for and support both shippers and shipping providers. We want you to use the website to fill up the empty space in your vehicles meaning you're more profitable and you're helping to reduce Climate Change. Naturally, your costs to deliver these extra items whilst already on-route are minimal which allows you to offer a low bid making the shipper more likely to use DroppingBy.com and your services. This helps to achieve our passion of reducing Climate Change. DroppingBy.com has not been designed for you to find one item, quote higher and then ship it across the country. Our goal is to have vehicles travelling across the country that have minimized their empty space. Obviously if you don't already have a trip planned you're more than welcome to use DroppingBy.com to create a trip and fill up your vehicle for the trip there and back. Registering is free and fast It's free to register and bid on shipments. Any bids that are chosen by a Shipper will result in a 5% commission being taken by DroppingBy.com. This is paid directly by the Shipper on the website in the form of a 5% deposit. The remaining 95% of your price will be paid directly to you by the Shipper. Becoming a Verified Shipping Provider Once you're registered on the website you will be asked to login to your account and become 'Verified'. You will be unable to bid on listings until you become verified. Verification includes a 10-point inspection process where you will be asked to give proof that you are legally qualified as a motor carrier. To do this you will need to click the 'Sign in' link at the top of any page and enter your username and password to log in to your account. Click the 'Inspection Process' link located in the menu on the left-hand-side. Once you have completed this process, the information will be submitted to DroppingBy.com and reviewed. You will then receive an email confirming you're now verified or detailing any issues that need rectifying before you can become verified. This inspection process has been developed for the benefit of legitimate shipping providers like you, just as much as for shippers.
